Creating a NymVPN account takes about a minute. Unlike most services, there's no email, no password, and no personal information to enter. You'll generate a 24-word access code on your own device, which becomes the only key to your account. Nym never sees this code, which is exactly why no one (including us) can link your account to your activity later.
Step 1: Visit the NymVPN website
Go to nym.com and select Get NymVPN to get started.
Step 2: Generate your account
After selecting Get NymVPN, you'll be prompted to generate an account with a 24-word access code. This happens in your browser, on your device. Nym Technologies never receives the words.
Step 3: Save your 24-word access code
You will receive a 24-word access code. This code is the only key to your NymVPN account. It is your responsibility to store it securely.
Recommended ways to store it:
- Password manager secure note. The fastest path for most users. Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePass all work.
- Printed or handwritten backup in a secure physical location. Useful as a second backup.
- Encrypted file downloaded and stored on a device you control.
Avoid unencrypted storage (plain text files, screenshots, unsecured cloud notes), and never share the words. See Can I share my NymVPN 24-word access code with anyone? for the full safety guide.
Step 4: Subscribe to a plan
Once your account exists, choose a 1-month, 1-year, or 2-year plan. The 1-year and 2-year plans include a 7-day free trial. Pay with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash, or any of 11 supported cryptocurrencies. Paying with $NYM tokens gives an extra 50% off any plan.

Step 5: Download the app and sign in
Download the NymVPN app for your device and sign in with your 24-word access code. One subscription covers up to 10 of your devices. See How do I download and install the NymVPN app?

Why doesn't NymVPN use email and password?
Email and password ties your VPN use to a personal identifier. The 24-word access code is generated on your device and never seen by Nym, so there is no central record linking you to your activity. See What is my 24-word NymVPN access code?
Can I create multiple accounts?
Yes. Each account has its own 24-word access code and its own subscription. There's no limit on how many accounts you can create.
