Download the VPN client
You can download NymVPN by visiting the Nym page and selecting Download, and select your device.
Create an account
Once you've downloaded the app you will need to get an access code to activate NymVPN.
To create your NymVPN account:
- Select Get NymVPN on the homepage.
- Choose your plan & make payment
- You'll see your secret access code once you've completed your payment
This is a 24-word access code that you generate when you create your NymVPN plan. This crucial security feature replaces the traditional email and password combination as the only way to access your NymVPN plan.
- Make sure you save your secret access code in a safe place.
- Nym does not have access to this code.
- This code unlocks your account. Don't share it with anyone.
The NymVPN team will never ask for your access code under any circumstances.
Install the VPN client
Follow the installation instructions specific to your device. This may involve allowing installation from unknown sources in the device's security settings and running the application as a root user.
Initial configuration
Open the nym-vpn application and configure the necessary settings as described on each Operating System page.
Connect to the VPN
Once you've finished installing NymVPN, open the application and you can now establish a connection to the gateways. Ensure you are connected by checking the IP address and ensuring it has changed to the server's IP, navigate to whatsmyipaddress.com and it should originate from the host IP address of the gateways selected.
