As of April 2025, NymVPN works in Iran, but some users may experience limited functionality depending on their Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the country’s evolving network restrictions.
- The “Fast” mode, which uses AmneziaWG (a fork of the WireGuard protocol), generally works but may encounter connectivity issues with certain ISPs due to local blocking or throttling.
- The “Anonymous” mode, powered by the Nym mixnet, is a more resilient option for low-bandwidth, high-latency-tolerant activities, such as messaging, secure communications, and crypto transactions.
Some users in Iran have also reported difficulty accessing NymVPN through app stores. If you’re unable to download the app from official platforms, you can download the APK file directly from nym.com.
We are committed to maintaining and improving NymVPN’s accessibility in Iran and continue to work on solutions that help users navigate network restrictions and platform limitations.
