QUIC transport mode is a feature that helps you bypass firewalls and censorship when using fast mode.
It works by wrapping your WireGuard/AmneziaWG connection in a QUIC layer, making it much harder for firewalls or deep packet inspection (DPI) systems to recognize and block your VPN traffic.
Note: QUIC transport mode only applies to your entry gateway, the first hop in your connection.
How to enable QUIC transport mode
You can enable QUIC transport mode in two ways:
- From the Entry screen: Tap the QUIC filter and confirm activation
- From Settings: Go to Settings ⚙️ > Anti-censorship and toggle on QUIC
When you enable QUIC, you'll see fewer entry gateway options because QUIC works with a subset of servers that have QUIC support enabled. This is normal.

When to deactivate QUIC transport mode
To deactivate QUIC transport mode, simply reverse either of the steps above.
Because QUIC adds an extra wrapper around your connection, it may impact your speeds slightly. If you're not in a censored environment or experiencing connectivity issues, we recommend keeping QUIC deactivated to get the best performance.
