We take privacy seriously and understand that anonymous payments are important to many users. The good news is that with "zk-nyms", all payments on NymVPN are anonymous by default, ensuring that your payment data cannot be linked to your online activity. Check our zk-nyms section or visit the dedicated page on nym.com.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Card payments (via Stripe): Personal data is collected to process the transaction, comply with regulations and combat fraud. Details are outlined in Nym's and Stripe’s privacy statements, which can be found on their respective websites. Note that your bank may see that you are a NymVPN customer, but this data cannot be linked to your online activities.
- NYM transfers: Since NYM transactions happen on-chain, they are publicly visible on the blockchain.
-
For users who want greater financial privacy, we support payments via our self-hosted BTCPay Server, which currently includes:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN)
- Monero (XMR)
Coming in Q2 2025: Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) and Liquid Tether (L-USDT) will be added as additional payment options.
If you have concerns about payment privacy or need guidance, feel free to contact Nym Support.
