When connected to NymVPN, you might encounter issues with some online services or applications. These could be a result of geo restrictions for the chosen exit node or due to the network's exit policy.
Warum geschieht das?
The Nym network has a built-in exit policy that restricts certain types of traffic. While Nym is against all forms of censorship, this policy is designed to prevent abuse by spammers and maintain a healthy experience for operators running the network (via a port-based allow list).
As of January 2026, our policy is quite permissive and allows for a mostly unaltered online experience.
What should I do?
If you'd like to see more ports added to the exit policy, you can make a suggestion on any of our community channels and the Nym community of operators will vote on this proposal. You can see voting for some previous Nym Improvement Proposals (or NIPs) here.
