Testing your VPN speed is a great way to make sure you’re getting the best experience, especially if you’re trying to stream, download, or just curious how your connection compares with and without NymVPN.
A quick speed or latency test helps you understand how the network is performing and whether you might want to switch to a different gateway/location for better performance.
Quick Ping Test (using command-line)
A ping test checks how long it takes for data to travel to and from a server. Here’s how to run one to test NymVPN’s responsiveness:
Connect to NymVPN.
Open your NymVPN app and connect to your desired node or location.-
Open your computer’s terminal or command prompt.
On Windows: Press
Win + R, typecmd, then hit Enter. On macOS or Linux: Open Terminal from Applications or Spotlight.
-
Run a ping command to Nym’s website:
ping nym.com
Full Speed Test
To measure your download and upload speed, use an online testing tool like: http://speedtestv4.tools.uebi.net
Steps:
Connect to NymVPN.
Choose the server location you want to test.Open the speed test link above.
Wait a few seconds while it checks your connection.-
Review your results.
You’ll see three main numbers:Ping (ms): Measures delay (lower is better).
Download (Mbps): How fast you receive data.
Upload (Mbps): How fast you send data.
You can choose to repeat this with a few different nodes to see which one gives you the best performance for your region or use case.
