A traditional VPN encrypts your traffic and funnels it through one company's server. That company sees who you are and what you're doing at the same moment, and you're left trusting it to keep no logs, resist every data request, and never get breached. NymVPN removes that trust entirely. It's a decentralized VPN (dVPN) built on a Noise Generating Mixnet, and it protects not just your IP but the metadata trail your traffic leaves behind. The difference is architectural, not a promise.
Decentralized, so no one sees the whole picture
- Fast mode runs a 2-hop WireGuard connection across independent nodes. No single node sees both your IP and your destination, so there's no point where the two can be joined.
- Anonymous mode sends your traffic through five mixnet hops with cover traffic and packet reordering, unlinkable even to an observer watching the entire network.
No logs by architecture, not by promise
Every VPN claims "no logs." It's a promise you have to trust holds up under legal pressure or a breach. With NymVPN there's nothing meaningful to log in the first place: the mixnet runs on independent operators, and no single one of them ever sees who you are and what you're doing.
It hides your metadata, not just your IP
A regular VPN hides your IP. NymVPN also hides the shape of your traffic, which is what modern, AI-powered surveillance feeds on: even with encrypted content, timing, size, and frequency can fingerprint you. Anonymous mode generates cover traffic, shuffles packets across users, and adds timing noise to defeat exactly that analysis.
Anonymous from signup to payment
- No email, no password. You sign in with a 24-word access code generated on your device. Nym never sees it.
- Private payment. Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, 11 cryptocurrencies, or cash by post. See What payment methods are available for NymVPN?
- Unlinkable by zk-nym. Once you pay, your subscription becomes a cryptographic credential that can't be tied back to your sessions.
Most VPNs ask for an email, run payment through a processor that knows your identity, and link your account to your activity internally. NymVPN can't make that link, because it never exists.
Independently audited
NymVPN's infrastructure has been audited by JP Aumasson (2021), Oak Security (2022), Cryspen (2023-2025), and Cure53 (2024-2025). The code is open source at github.com/nymtech, so anyone can check these claims directly.
İlgili sorular
Is NymVPN faster than a traditional VPN?
Fast mode is on par with a high-quality WireGuard VPN. Anonymous mode is deliberately slower: five hops plus cover traffic are the price of resisting traffic analysis.
Do I need Anonymous mode all the time?
Hayır. Fast mode covers everyday browsing, streaming, and downloads. Switch to Anonymous mode for high-stakes work like messaging, crypto, and journalism.
