This guide helps you uninstall NymVPN and ensure all files and directories are properly removed from your Windows device.
Note: if you plan to reinstall later, make sure your 24-word access code is saved somewhere safe so you can log back in.
Step 1: uninstall the NymVPN program
Open the Control Panel and select Programs > Uninstall a program. Locate NymVPN in the list and select Uninstall.
Step 2: remove the NymVPN hidden directories
After uninstalling NymVPN, some files may remain in a hidden directory. You can delete them by following these instructions:
- Open your File Explorer
- Insert the following paths on the File Explorer address bar
C:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME_HERE>\AppData\Local\nym-vpn-app
C:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME_HERE>\AppData\Roaming\nym-vpn-app
- Right-click the folder and select Delete
Please note that you will need to enable "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" by opening the View tab on File Explorer.

No. Your account exists independently of any device. Reinstall the app at any time and log in with your 24-word access code.

If you are reinstalling because of a "daemon not connected" error, see Why do I experience a "daemon not connected" error on Windows? first; a reinstall is not always needed.
